Craft Corner

Until we can have in-person programs again, join us virtually for The Craft Corner.  Follow us on Facebook as we post short, craft videos every Saturday at 10:00 am.  The children’s librarians are demonstrating simple, fun, and inexpensive crafts that you can do at home with items either found around your house, or in local stores.

Here are the crafts we have already recorded:

  • July: Fourth of July craft
  • October 3: Apple craft (you'll need a paper plate and red tissue or paint)
  • October 10: Painted Leaf craft (you'll need paper and paint)
  • October 17: Halloween craft (you'll need white yarn, white pipe cleaners, glue, and paper)
  • October 24: Paper Plate Mobile (you'll need a paper plate and some yarn or string)
  • October 31: Origami Crane (you only need a sheet of square paper)
  • November 7: Pom Pom Popper (you'll need a cardboard tube, balloon, tape, and pom poms)
  • November 14: Egg Carton Caterpillar/Snake (you'll need a cardboard egg carton, scissors, string, and markers or paint)
  • November 21: Paper Bag Turkey Decoration (you'll need a paper lunch bag, paper, markers, and a stapler or tape)
  • November 28: Simple Turkey Hand Craft (you'll need paper, drawing tools, and/or paint)
  • December 5: Coffee Filter Snowflakes (you'll need coffee filters, scissors, and markers)
  • December 12: Christmas Crackers (you'll need a paper towel tube, wrapping paper, tissue paper, and ribbon)
  • December 19: Reindeer Christmas Ornament (you'll need craft sticks, yarn, paper, drawing tools, other decorations, and glue)
  • January 9: Snowman craft (you'll need a sheet of paper, scrap paper, and glue)
  • January 16: Ring-Toss Game (you'll need a paper towel tube and some paper plates)
  • January 23: Peanut Butter Bird Feeders (you'll need peanut butter (or a substitute), bird seed, and a cardboard tube)
  • January 30: Jar Lantern (you'll need a glass jar, tissue/crepe paper, glue, and some strong wire for a handle)
  • February 6: Groundhog Puppet (you'll need a paper/plastic cup, paper, a craft stick, scissors, and glue)
  • February 13: Valentine Heart Card (you'll need different colors of construction paper, scissors, some cardboard, glue and a pencil)
  • February 20: Cupcake Decoration (you'll need a paper plate, construction paper, tissue paper, glue, scissors, and pompoms)
