Request to Rescind Homeowner's Principal Residence Exemption
The Request to Rescind Homeowner's Principal Residence Exemption (PDF) must be completed when you have sold the property that you have claimed using the Principal Residence Exemption Affidavit. Please return this form to the Township Assessing Department.
Property Transfer Affidavit
The Property Transfer Affidavit (PDF) must be completed whenever there is a change of ownership on a property. It is completed and signed by the new owner and must be filed within 45 days of the transfer. The Conditional Rescission of Principal Residence Exemption (PDF) enables a person who has established a new principal residence to retain a Principal Residence Exemption (PRE) on property previously exempt as the owner’s principal residence, and must be filed with the assessor on or before June 1 of the year of the claim.
Disabled Veterans Property Tax Exemption
Pursuant to 2013 Public Act 161, amending MCL 211.7b., the Disabled Veteran's Property Tax Exemption Affidavit (PDF) must be filled out annually between December 31 of the prior year and the close of the March Board of Review. The Application for Property Tax Exemption is completed if an organization wishes to be tax-exempt. Qualifying organizations may include, but not limited to: religious, charitable, educational entities.
