[ARCHIVED] 15th Annual Longest Breakfast Table Pancake Breakfast

Join the Waterford Police Department and Waterford Regional Fire Department along with Lifepoint Church for the 15th Annual Longest Breakfast Table pancake breakfast and charities fundraiser.  This community favorite annual event will take place at Waterford Fire Department Headquarters 2495 Crescent Lake Rd. in Waterford on September 9, 2017.  It will begin at 8:30 am and go to 11:00am.

Lifepoint Church will have many of their members on hand as the principal sponsor for the Longest Breakfast Table. They will arrive early in the morning on Saturday; setting up tables, preparing the pancake mix, cooking sausage, pouring coffee and juice.

Those in attendance will be able to meet our police officers and firefighters as they flip pancakes.  Fire trucks and police cars will be on display for the residents to get an up close and personal view.  This annual event has become a tremendous community outreach that promotes pride and a true sense of community in Waterford. Each person in attendance will help to raise monies for the charity funds of both the Fire and Police departments.

Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised in previous years through this fund raiser. These funds help support residents in their time of need after a fire; giving them some peace of mind that their immediate needs are met.  The charities fund local kids with special needs going to camp and scholarships for college expenses. It also supports police officers, firefighters and their families in time of need like a health crisis.  We have also supported our military by sending care packages to our troops overseas.

Fire Chief John Lyman personally benefited from the funds raised in 2012 when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy and made several

trips to the Cleveland Clinic. “I am so very grateful for the Benevolence Fund and the assistance it gave to me and my family during my cancer treatments.”

Sponsorships which are so very important to make this event successful. If you would like to sponsor this event, please contact Fire Chief John Lyman – jlyman@waterfordmi.gov or call 248-673-0405.
