Walton Blvd. Construction Update 8/2/21
The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close the north leg of the Walton Blvd./Sashabaw Road intersection in Waterford Township for continued construction starting Monday, Aug. 9. The closure will last for approximately seven days.
The closure is necessary for construction work that is part of the ongoing Walton Blvd. reconstruction project from Dixie Hwy. to east of Sashabaw Road.
The detour for Sashabaw through traffic is Maybee Road to Dixie Highway to Walton Boulevard, back to Sashabaw Road and vice versa. Walton Blvd remains open to two-way traffic in the construction zone. The entire project is expected to be completed in early fall. For more information, visit: http://rcocweb.org/563/Walton-Blvd.
Road construction on Walton Blvd. between Dixie Hwy. and Sashabaw Rd. is scheduled to begin April 19th. Intermittent lane closures and traffic delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.
This work is part of the tri-party program and is funded in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Transportation, the Road Commission for Oakland County, and Waterford Township. In August 2020, the Waterford Township Board of Trustees authorized funds to be allocated to the improvement of this section of Walton Blvd.
