Comprised of 14 volunteer Waterford residents, the NPC is charged with identifying and reporting nuisances in violation of Township Zoning Ordinances and the International Property Maintenance Code. The primary goal for assembling the group was to institute a proactive team of eyes and ears in the field to support the Township’s Code Enforcement staff.
The Neighborhood Preservation Corps gives the residents of Waterford an opportunity to assist the township in locating and tracking conditions of blight in our neighborhoods. The extra eyes that our volunteers bring to the streets will go a long way toward significantly reducing blight in our community.
Each NPC volunteer commits a minimum of 2 hours per week to canvas and identify basic nuisance code violations in their assigned region of the Township. Violations are then recorded and reported to the Township Code Enforcement staff for investigation and resolution.
Did you know that better than 90% of all code enforcement violations are resolved after just one notice is mailed to the homeowner?
