Book It 5k Family Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, May 21, 2022, 9:00a-1:00p at the Warming House on Civic Center Campus (by the pond)
Join us for the 4th Annual fundraiser hosted by the Waterford Friends of the Library to support the Waterford Twp. Public Library. 5k and 1 mile Family Fun Runs/Walks: Untimed event. Medals for all participants. Pets welcome to participate with owners. Race Day
- On-site Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.

Specials include: Kids activities/crafts; Door Prizes provided by sponsors and after-race food.

Free Comic Book DaySaturday, May 7 – all dayThe library is joining other libraries and comic book stores nationwide in giving away free comic books on
Free Comic Book Day. Each library department (Children's, Teen, and Adult) will have free comics available while supplies last (one comic per person, please). No registration required. Drop in anytime between 10:00 and 5:00. You can also enter the comic book trivia contest for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Comic City! One entry per person. The deadline to enter is 5pm on Saturday, May 7th.
Children’s Programs (through age 12)“Oceans of Possibilities” the 2022 Summer Reading program begins June 6Mark your calendars to be ready to Ride the Reading Wave - open to all students Ages 3 - 12 There are Oceans of Possibilities with this summer’s reading program! Cast off and join in to win some cool prizes including gift cards, games and more.
- Sail off to our outdoor storytimes held outdoors by the storytime tree, or ride the waves to our craft room where you can let your imagination swim away from you as you create some cool sea-themed creations.
- Help us decorate our indoor ocean mural or tackle some outdoor programs for some fun in the sun.
- Finally, float on down to our summer matinee movies, popcorn provided of course!
It’s going to be a fun wild ride this summer, and we can’t wait to ‘sea’ you there!

Poetry & Prose Open Mic

Waterford Writers WorkshopTuesday, May 3, & May 17, 6:30p – 8:30p, Conference RoomAges 16 or olderPublished and unpublished writers are invited to join a community of writers to provide constructive and supportive critiques of each other’s works and to further discuss the craft of writing. Each writer will have the opportunity to read their work to the group. Bring at least five copies of their work (limit of 5 typewritten, double-spaced pages of fiction/non-fiction, poetry/prose, screen plays, etc.) for peer review and discussion. All copies will be returned to the writer with edits, constructive critiques, and suggestions by fellow group members.
