Friends of the Library Fundraising Projects

Funds raised by current projects will go toward

  • supporting programs such as the Children's Summer Reading program which helps students maintain their reading skills over the long summer break
  • replacing the lights along the sidewalks at the Library entrance
  • replacing seating in the Adults Services area

"Book It" 5K Family Fun Run

Saturday, May 2, 2020 

Join us for the 3rd annual "Book It" Family Fun Run/Walk sponsored by the Waterford Township Friends of the Library. Pets welcome to participate with owners. Proceeds benefit the Waterford Township Public Library. 

Location & Parking: Race begins/ends at The Warming House on the Waterford Civic Center Campus. Parking available adjacent in front of Waterford Township Hall. 

Course: Race route is on paved roads with some gravel on shoulder and sidewalks. Watch for vehicle traffic on course.

Registration: Opens 1/1/2020. Race shirt included with registration fee (Additional $2 for 2XL and larger). 

  • Online Registration: Begins 1/1/2020 Check back here for link. Entry fee payable by credit card.
  • Mail-in - Postmarked 4/20/2020. Mail completed form and payment to Waterford Township Friends of the LIbrary, 5168 Civic Center Drive, Waterford MI 48329.Checks payable to Waterford Township Friends of the Library.

Start: Race Day Registration Begins at 8:30a. 5k Run/Walk at 10:00a (chip start). fun Run/Walk at 10:005a (not timed).

Award Structure

  • 5k Run: Overall male and female winners. Masters Male and female winners, top three in each age group.
  • 5k Walk: Overall male and female winners. Masters male and female winners, top three in each age group. NOTE: you must walk at all times or be disqualified
  • Fun Run/Walk: Ribbons for all participants
  • Pets: Ribbons for all participating pets

Other activities include a Silent Auction of delightful combination packages.

Kroger Community Rewards Program

The Waterford Twp Friends of the Library is now one of the Waterford non-profit organizations that Kroger shoppers can designate as a Community Rewards donation recipient. How can you participate?
  • You will need to have a Kroger Plus Card. If you don’t have one already, you can obtain one at the customer service desk at Kroger
  • on your Plus Card profile you need to enroll the Waterford Twp. Friends of the Library (NPO #75619) under the Community Rewards section
  • Each time you shop and swipe your Plus Card a percentage of your purchases will be donated to the Friends.

Gordon GO! at Gordon Foods

Another community rewards program that the Waterford Township of the Library is now approved as a participant organization. How do you credit your purchases? Just ask the cashier as you checkout to credit the Waterford Friends.
